Chalgrove Airfield is a former World War Two aerodrome near Chalgrove in Oxfordshire. In 2016, ownership of the Airfield transferred from the Ministry of Defence to Homes England.

Homes England, the successor to the Homes and Communities Agency, bring together land, money, expertise, and planning and compulsory purchase powers, with a clear remit to facilitate delivery of sufficient new homes, where they are most needed, to deliver a sustained improvement in affordability. Homes England is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government.

Delivering new homes at Chalgrove Airfield, a site in public ownership, will contribute to South Oxfordshire District Council's target of delivering 28,459 homes between 2011-34.

Our key proposals will deliver:

      • 3,000 new homes, including 40% affordable housing

      • Two primary schools and a 1,500 pupil secondary school, including a Sixth Form, with accessible community sports and cultural facilities

      • Health and Wellbeing Centre, supermarket, local shops and cafes

      • Office and employment space, including home hub / enterprise centre

      • Approximately 30% of site dedicated to open space including parks, formal sports, play spaces, green routes, streets and allotments
