Welcome to the Chalgrove Airfield website
Chalgrove Airfield is a former World War Two aerodrome near Chalgrove in Oxfordshire. In 2016, ownership of the Airfield transferred from the Ministry of Defence to Homes England.
Homes England, the successor to the Homes and Communities Agency, brings together land, money, expertise, and planning and compulsory purchase powers, with a clear remit to facilitate delivery of sufficient new homes, where they are most needed, to deliver a sustained improvement in affordability. Homes England is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government.
South Oxfordshire must find room for more than 17,000 new homes by 2033, and we are committed to supporting its aspirations to meet this need. As a large, previously developed site, it is right that the potential for Chalgrove Airfield to provide space for new homes and business is explored.
Homes England is hosting a two day community engagement event on Friday 13th and 14th July in Chalgrove - you can find out more in our community newsletter here. From 16 July 2018, we will also launch a new consultation website: www.chalgroveairfieldconsultation.com.
